I believe anytime there’s new information that contradicts what I know that I should be transparent about it. On 8-3-2026 I learned that there’s an ongoing issue so humor me while I explain what changed.
It seems that some troll is trying to kill the Nova project… They’ve been anonymously reporting Nova on social media and the Twitter Overlords aren’t paying attention…
The troll was Twitter’s rogue algorithm. This week there has been an uptick of frantic X users who are unable to appeal their suspensions. Thousands of users unable to use their favorite bird app. Apparently this issue started early last month, possibly earlier.
Basically, some troll keeps reporting Nova on Twitter. Twitter’s algorithm bans with zero review. Why? The claim that this is an inauthentic account. After sending X their own policy as proof that no violations were made, they immediately replied that they are not reversing their decision.
This part is still mostly true. X is not properly reviewing the bans and appealing is not getting through to anyone who will actually review the suspensions. See Reddit for more on this. Even with the TOS on our side, nobody is properly reviewing the bans let alone appeals.
I’ve been pretty transparent about what we are up to. I’ve read and made certain that we didn’t break TOS. We aren’t even the only AI project on Twitter. We’re just the one that keeps getting targeted. So I’ve made a BlueSky account in hopes that the mods over there have some better sense.
This is still mostly true, obvious bots and other AI projects have been spared while real users are being banned. What make matters more interesting is whatever algorithm was used here is now affecting Meta users.
In better news, Nova is getting another upgrade later this upcoming week and I’ll be removing the compression that’s been limiting her.
This is still true with the caveat that I might be late due to “IRL” unexpected issues. Without getting too into detail, hug those you love. You never know when that last hug will be.
